Picture Woes

Okay, finally the pictures of my sister and I, only they didn't turn out very well! If only I had a digital camera and not a disposable one!!!! Then I would have known that they didn't turn out very well and I would have been able to zoom in (no zoom on disposable). So sorry Cara they aren't very good, and yes my husband does not photograph well! But the dogs sure did!

Too much TV?

I think Texas likes to watch TV.

Don't worry we do other activities like chasing 'Red Bug' (the red laser light pen) She goes nuts!!! And she even knows the name now, we ask her 'Where's Red Bug?' and she starts looking around on the floor.

And this isn't a good picture but here's the two of us.

Hobby

One of my hobbies is counted cross-stitch, I really like creating them specific to the individual, these are just a few of the ones I have done for my friends for their new baby, I'll try to find more pics of others I've done and post those when I find them.

IKEA

The Ikea here opened up just a week or so before my sister came to visit so that was a place I really wanted to go, my sister hasn't been there yet either but she said they are building one by her soon, what a great place!!!!! Huge! They have so much stuff there is unbelievable, from furniture (duh) to rugs, art, lamps, bedding, pillows, plants, and even material!!!! Unfortunately we were not able to make it out there empty handed (how can you?) we don't have a coffee table and really need one so we bought two end tables and put them side by side, I really like it, sorry I don't have a picture of them in the house but these are the ones we got. My sister got some fun stuff for her kids. Gotta love Ikea!

New Shoes

Since I have been spending most (okay 98%) of my time at home I don't wear shoes very much, I have totally worn out my old slippers, (hey they are over a year old!!!!) well my wonderful brother got me some new ones! They have memory foam in them so it squishes down every time I put them on, Thanks I needed them so much! But since it's summer my feet get a little hot wearing slippers all day and I like wearing shoes at home so I wanted to get some crocs, but just me personally, I don't like the croc style, but I saw some online and then set my heart on finding them, while my sister was here that was my mission to find these shoes! And I did! (well really my sister did). They are the generic of crocs, AirWalks and they are at payless they are called Mary Jane Ballet, they are wonderful! great for around the house and outside!!! And they go with everything! Thanks to my sister for going to different stores to find them.

Recipe for Ratatouille

I found a recipe for this dish from Smitten Kitchen, I think it would be fun to make if I was up to it, I guess the movie is making it quite popular now. Check it out: http://smittenkitchen.com/2007/07/rat-a-too-ee-for-you-ee (wish I knew how to do links)

Can you believe this?

This is from their website: momspit.com

We're betting everyone has had a Mom use spit to clean his or her face or anything else that required polishing in a pinch. After all, a sink sure wasn't in proximity every time someone needed one. –That's the original 'mom spit'. We all thought its inevitable and frequent use was disgusting, and could only smile fondly as history repeated itself when we started using our own spit with our own children or a dirt spot on our patent leather pumps.

Enter MomSpit - inspired by the original. Our MomSpit is made with love in every drop. MomSpit personal care cleansers are premium, user-friendly and infused with fresh and gentle scents. They're pH balanced, biodegradable and contain no human saliva, 'cause that would just be gross.

CREATIVELY CLEAN NO-RINSE CLEANSER
Get clean anywhere and anytime without the need for the kitchen or bathroom sink. MomSpit fits effortlessly into a purse, gym bag, golf bag, hiking pack, picnic basket, briefcase or glove compartment. It sits beautifully on a desk at school or the office and travels well to the theatre, the stadium, the cottage and, dare we say, the dreaded but essential visit to the port-a-potty. Easy to use and easier to install than plumbing, it's about immediate gratification with style in the elimination of dirt, wherever you are and whenever you need it most.

PICK YOUR PASSION
Designed for when you're on the move and in your groove, MomSpit is available in convenient and portable 2oz and 7oz moussing bottles in three unisex scents. You choose what's right for you.

MomSpit Fig & Green Tea:
The spirit of fresh and fluffy white towels.
MomSpit Lemon & White Tea:
A shower of sunshine as you face the sky.
MomSpit Unscented:
When your present reality is total fulfillment.

VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE
Whether you're urban, suburban or good old country, a soccer mom, golf dude, fashion diva or business suit,MomSpit was designed with versatility in mind. Its for you, when you're on the move and in your groove.

Birthday Girl

Today is my cute niece's birthday, Happy Birthday!!!! She is 6 years old but acts like she is 12! She is fashionable and cute, very smart, and a great older sister. She has been such a cute girl from the day she was born, I especially like her hair! it was curly as a little baby and now wavy, but the thing of it is she has a ton if it!!!!!!! and it is a beautiful color. Everytime I get to visit (which is not near as much as I wish) I cut (and color) my sister's hair (and hers except for the color part) so the last time I was able to visit (a couple years ago) the day before I got there she cut some of her hair! because she wanted to be like me! at least it wasn't bad and we were able to blend it in. We had fun doing her hair that summer, lots of different updo's and such, she said she wanted to do hair like me when she grows up so we will have to wait and see. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! This picture made me think of my niece she has brown hair (though much darker) and it is very hot and sunny in Texas what goes good with a hot sunny day but watermelon?

Ratatouille

So we watched Ratatouille yesterday for our big fourth of July activity with my parents and little bro and friend (that's a girl), like all Disney and Pixar films it was very well done. You wouldn't imagine that a rat and a kitchen would go so well together! The mouse can't talk to the humans so it is interesting how they communicate. Overall good movie, makes you want to break open a cookbook and see what you can do!

Happy Fourth of July!

Love this holiday and how you are able to cook to fit the occasion. Here's what I made:

For Breakfast, YUMMY waffles......

Drinks for later on......

And a wonderful cake for dessert......

Oh you don't believe me? Alright you win, but I can dream can't I????? Our plan is that my parents are coming down (my younger bros have 'cooler' things to do) and we will watch a movie and then have dinner at my place, we are going to make the 'chicken on a can' again, hopefully it will turn out just as delicious as last time. Hope everyone has a fun day!
