One down a million to go!

My sister joined the wonderful world of blogging! I'm so excited, she's the first person I have talked into starting a blog and hopefully there will be many more:) I think it's a great way to keep in touch with friends and family but also a little journal or family log. So to all those that only read blogs and haven't started one, go on you can do it!!!!!

Goodbye.....

After two wonderful weeks my sister returned home yesterday, amazing how fast time goes by! It was so great having her here, since we don't live anywhere near each other we don't get to see each other as often as I would like. I wish we could live in the same state or town, or even neighborhood! The older we've gotten the more I love spending time with her, it seems like we have a lot more in common these days then when we were younger.

So a big THANKS to my sister for all her help these past two weeks, cooking, cleaning, and the company. And also to her family who went without a mom for two whole weeks! That's a long time for a 5 year-old and an almost 2 year-old. I love y'all!

Our Dogs

I must say we have the best dogs in the whole world! It's true! Don't believe me? I'll prove it to you through out a lot of posts! Right now I will introduce them to you. In advance, sorry the pictures look all fuzzy, I'm still new to this.



This is Chugs (disclaimer: we did not name her, she was my bro-in-laws dog before we 'adopted' her) she is a Chug dog (chihuahua/pug mix). Chugs is the most loving dog you could have, she can sense how you are feeling if you are sad or if you don't feel good she totally knows! She loves to sit on your lap and receive belly rubs. I swear that she is part cat as well because she has a lot of mannerisms that are like a cat! She pounces and she can jump straight from the floor onto the arm of the sofa! I also think her paws look like rabbit paws.



This is Texas (we found her name on a website of girl names for dogs) she is a Puggle (pug/beagle mix). She is just the cutest dog! Her face shows a lot of expression, I love her half curly tail, it bounces when you talk to her or she is excited, love her cute ears!!!! Did I mention I have always wanted a beagle but you know what, I don't want one now!!! I love my puggle! it is the perfect breed mix because with the pug it makes her so loving and sweet, she loves to cuddle too but unfortunately she is twice the size of Chugs and therefore is a little too big for my lap! so she sits next to me while Chugs is on me! Texas loves to go hiking, camping and canoeing with Jeremy (more later), she loves the outdoors.

I think that's a pretty good intro, this blog will be full of posts about Chugs and Texas because I have nothing else to blog about! Here's some pics of them together! They love each other (though Chugs is the 'top' dog).

Are you chicken?

My sister made the best chicken! I found this recipe and have been wanting to make it for weeks now and my sister was able to make my dream come true, AND.... it was sooooo delicious! It's from Rachel Ray, my sister said it calls for a beer can but I swear it said Coke when I was looking at it, we did it with Coke and it was soooooo good!!!!!

BBQ Coke Chicken

You will need:
4-5lb. whole chicken
12oz. Coke Can

Rub for Chicken:
1T dk. br. sugar
1 1/2 t. sugar
1 1/2 t. garlic pwd.
1 1/2 t. salt
3/4 t. pepper
3/4 t. paprika
1/2 t. dry mustard
1/4 t. cayenne pepper
1/4 t. ground sage

Heat Grill up to med. heat, rub chicken, place chicken on coke can on the grill, cook for 1 -1 1/2 hrs. It will be so tender and juicy. So yummy try it!!!!!!

My Wonderful Sister

I have the best sister (and bro-in-law) in the world! My sister is coming to visit for two weeks starting on tuesday! I'm so excited, this is really great for a couple reasons, I just got out of the hospital again on sunday and am quite weak so I need help around the house, I also need to gain weight and she is the best cook around, and we can just hang out and have fun! My bro-in-law Justin is just as awesome because he took off work to take care of my adorable niece and nephew so my sister could come up. Thanks ya'll this means a lot to us. And way to go Spurs!!!!!!
