New Site....

Check out this new site:
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints launched a new multimedia Web site this week about the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. The site, JesusChrist.lds.org, was almost a year in the making.

Responding to a perceived need to bring all current and future online Latter-day Saint resources about Christ into one Web location, the site is aimed both at members of the faith and all others with an interest in Jesus Christ.

ccording to project manager Brian Hansbrow, the site is designed to give people a deeper understanding of who Jesus Christ is.

The site features articles, video clips, artwork, an interactive music page and other sections all focused on the life and ministry of Christ.

A little book help needed....

I love books, I use to read a ton, belonged to a bookclub etc.... but since I got really sick I haven't been able to read much, you would think it would be perfect with all this time on my hands etc... but I get so tired when I read so it's been a challenge, some times are better than others, sometimes I can read for 30mins or so others I can barely read for 10! So I am going to try and listen to some books, I have an iPod and I know you can download Audiobooks or off iTunes but we don't have any money, good thing is the library has a ton you can download for free, bad news is it doesn't support iPods!!!!! but I was able to download a book on CD and then from iTunes put it on my iPod so I am going to try and get some books on CD and do that.

So the help I need is.....I need some good books to read!!!! and I mean really really good it has to be able to keep my attention so I will want to listen to it and not watch TV!!!!! What are your favorite books? (and hopefully they will be on CD at the library!)

So grateful for....

My internet! I was without it for two days!!!!!! Which also means I was without a home phone! What did I do before internet days? Oh yeah, I was young enough to play and read and not have a care in the world! At least I still had my cable! You never realize how much you use the internet (or your phone) until it is taken away!

I actually made dinner last night and wanted to look up a recipe real quick, but NO internet!!!! I actually had to look in a cookbook!!! And I couldn't make the phone calls I wanted to because lets face it I live in a basement and the cell phone service isn't the greatest down here!

So glad to have you back internet and glad I have blogs to catch up on this saturday morning because I will never never never understand why there is nothing good on tv on a saturday!!!!!!!

LOST: PUGGLE

Well almost....yesterday somebody left the gate open and Texas got out, she has done this before and I was able to take a bag of treats yell her name shake the bag and she came running, zoomed across the street without looking!!!!!! Today was similar, I live the basement so I can't tell if the gate is open or not and so I kept calling her (I only let her outside for about 3mins. and she didn't come so I went outside (which I didn't have my portable oxygen because it was empty) I called and I didn't have a bag of treats so I took a bag of tortilla chips!!! I couldn't see her anywhere, went to the front and looked up and down the street, no dog, great I can't believe this! I know she would want to come home but if she went to far (that beagle nose will take her everywhere!) I'm just afraid that she won't find her way back (think Homeward Bound, it will be okay, it will be okay) I don't know what to do because I don't have a car, I can't walk up and down the street, and my neighbor just had a baby so I can't call on her! I was about to go back down stairs when I see a brown dog emerge from behind one of the houses across the street, I yell, shake the tortilla bag and she comes running at full speed (again not looking before crossing the street, thankful again that no car was coming).

I just can't live without my dogs! Look at this cute girl, could you live without her?

So I'll tell the story now...I wasn't always a dog person, Chugs was actually a family dog to begin with, we moved into my in-laws basement and my husbands brother moved in with his parents upstairs with his dog, she was only 4 months old and so tiny and cute, she had to wear a cat collar and a bell because she was so small, my husband loved her to death and played with her all the time, I liked her because she was small and cute but I didn't like dogs on my lap etc.. (how far I have come!) I was absolutely against dogs sleeping in people beds especially mine and I don't like dogs licking me (still don't allow it).

Well the next summer my husbands parents moved and his brother went and sold security systems for the summer so we took over care of Chugs, I grew more attached to her and we would take her for walks everyday and when I needed to rest or I had a coughing fit Chugs would wait right by me, if I sat down on the curb Chugs came and put her front paws on me until I was done, if you ever start to cry she senses it and even comes from the other room to be with you she is a very sensitive dog. Then I got really sick in Aug. and my husband thought that his brother would take Chugs back once he came home from his summer job and he knew how much I loved having a dog now, well his parents missed having a dog around too so he talked them into getting two puggles! the day we picked them up they were so little! (although they were just barely smaller than full-grown Chugs!) they were both in the pet carrier and when we opened it one shot out and one was shy, I wanted the shy one, it also made noises when it was breathing so I liked that too (because I make noises as well and have problems breathing!)

Oh, skipped a little part, so since Chugs was a family dog she was use to sleeping in people beds and I didn't like that and tried to break her of that once but it was no use she slept in our bed, it was okay because she didn't take up much room and she slept on my husbands side, but after we got Texas I said no way was she going to end up in the bed too, she slept in a pen out in the living room and all was going well, I had surgery in Feb. 07 and after that it was my husbands job to put her to bed because it was too much for me, he started getting lazy and she got use to spending time with us in bed until it was bedtime and then he would put her away, some nights she cried and I said to ignore it and she will stop but he couldn't take it and would go get her! well then he got even more lazy (or more soft hearted) and let her stay and what do you know, they both now sleep with us!!!!! right now it is nice because Texas is a really warm body and warms you up, she even lets me put my feet under her! but then in the summer she makes the bed really warm.

So I have warmed up to dogs, but mostly my own, I still don't like other people's dogs all over me and therefore I try to keep my dogs off other people when they come. Well, time to go get those two cute girls and take a nap! (they are so sweet, they go under the covers and they both have to be touching me!). I LOVE MY DOGS!!!!!!!

Jumping Video....

I finally got a video of Texas (and some Chugs) jumping through the hoop.... Thanks for the Christmas gift Uncle RJ!

These kids came over with their Dad (our home teacher) to help him clean our house a little, I can't do a lot of cleaning so they did the bathroom/vacuum/mop, of course the kids played with the dogs most of the time, don't we have a nice Home Teacher?

Happy Valentines Day...

Since my husband is at school all day long I wanted to do something cute for him but something better than just sticking notes in his books/jacket, I had seen these on other blogs and thought they were a great idea. I made my own little 'fortunes' telling him why I love him and then stuck them in his backpack.

I also want to let family and friends know how much I love and appreciate them. Happy Valentines Day!

I want to help too!!!

Don't forget about me while you are trying to blog!

Heavenly Chicken....

Okay I made this and took great pictures a couple weeks ago, well I forgot to take one when it was all done I just started eating it then put it away etc... so I made it again, took the final pics and here they are with the recipe....

Heavenly Chicken: seriously I eat this for lunch everyday five days a week.

1/2 cup Olive Oil (original recipe called for 1cup butter but I've never made it with butter and olive oil is better for you and it cuts the amount in half and I bet makes it taste better!)
1 Pkg. Italian Seasoning Dressing Mix
3-4 Chicken Breasts (depending on the size, I only use three big ones from Costco's frozen bag, I also cut them up so they cook a little faster etc...

I use a slow cooker bag (no clean-up afterwards) and put all three ingredients in there, I then marinated them overnight (also a great way to get a jump start the next day) cook on low for 4 hours or high for 6 (or until chicken is done and tender).

(after they have been cooking)

You then heat up 6oz. cream cheese in the microwave just until soft enough to mix, then mix in 1 can of cream of chicken soup, then pour in crock-pot and mix together, cook an additional 30mins.

During those 30mins. I throw together some rice.

All finished, just shred the chicken a little, doesn't it look yummy???? I'm addicted.

100!!!!!!

1 O zero
This is my 100th post! Wow, and it's only been about 8 months! For those that don't care to know it averages out to three posts a week (I feel like I do a lot more than that! I guess I wasn't very good at the beginning). I love to blog it is a great way to keep in touch with friends and document a little bit through pictures what is going on in my life. And since my life is my husband and dogs that is what you get pictures of for this 100th post....(my husband is always gone so it's just the dogs).

They love to cuddle me on the sofa (they make it really hard to read or do my cross-stitch, I have to be a bad mom and push them off). I just love the different positions they get in....

This is my new favorite one....

Snow, snow, and more snow!!!!!

We have early morning church (okay only 9am) and when we left there was at least 6 inches, at least we only live maybe a mile from the church (and it's downhill) so we made it to church with only minor slipping. While we were in church for only two hours it snowed another 4 inches or so, they canceled Sacrament meeting and told everyone to go home, that is easier said than done! we tried one way and couldn't make it up the hill so we went the other way and barely made it home (I was thinking maybe I should catch a ride from our neighbor who has an SUV!) although we couldn't make it up our driveway! I feel bad for the people that live at the top of the cul-de-sac because they have a car and I know it won't make it!!!!!!!!!

Jeremy of course loves the snow, loves shoveling the snow, he was out helping to keep the sidewalks around the church clear (it was very hard though, just a lot of snow!). These pictures were taken in the afternoon after it stopped snowing and warmed up a little, that's why the sidewalk looks so good.
